For my orginal logo, I decided that I wanted to create a serif logo as they have more personality. I started looking at different examples on Pintrest and then started creating my logo on illustrator.
Going into this project, I knew that I wanted to create an animated version of my logo for my website. This would be used for the hero image on the home page to engage vistors. This animated logo would also go onto my social media accounts. I had already got my orginal logo as you can see above, however I decided that I didn't like the yellow writing of 'Gates', so decided to go for rainbow as that's more fitting to my personality.
From there, I created a moodboard on Milanote of different animated logos on Pintrest. I found that I was particularly drawn to animations where the letters morph to create the words, and decided that I wanted to replicate this in my work.
Using Procreate's animation assistant feature, I hand drew each frame individually, and then added the audio in seperatly using iMovie to layer the two together before exporting it to YouTube.
Overall, I am immensly proud of this piece. It was my first ever time creating an animation, let alone hand drawing an animation, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second. I love watching the animation and I think that the music really brings it all together and adds to the personality of the design.
